Millbrae School District Calls Election for Educational Parcel Tax Measure

(Redwood City, CA) Mark Church, San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer, announced that the 10-day public review period of documents for the Millbrae School District’s parcel tax measure for the May 2, 2023 Special Mail Ballot Election will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023. The public review period gives voters an opportunity to review and challenge the language of the measure, arguments, and impartial analysis before they are published in the election’s Official Voter Information Pamphlet.

This review period is the first of four separate public review periods in relation to the May 2, 2023 Special Mail Ballot Election. All review periods will begin on their respective opening date. Documents filed with the Registration & Elections Division will be available for review at www.smcacre.org/elections under Current Election.

Public Review Period Schedule

February 3 to February 13
The 10-day review period of the ballot measure begins on February 3 at 5 p.m. and ends on February 13 at 5 p.m.

February 10 to February 21
Primary arguments for and against the ballot measure.

February 21 to March 3
Rebuttal arguments for and against primary arguments for the ballot measure where a primary argument was filed both in favor and against and impartial analysis.

During each 10-day public review period, registered voters eligible to vote on the Millbrae School District's measure may seek a judicial writ of mandate or injunction requiring any or all the materials to be amended or deleted. The request for a writ of mandate or injunction shall be filed no later than the end of the review period.

Voting Period Begins on April 3 and Ends on May 2
Millbrae School District’s registered voters will receive a ballot in the mail in early April.  In-person voting starts April 3 at the Registration & Elections Division.
