Public can receive email alerts as new results are posted

(Redwood City, CA) San Mateo County will begin posting election results for the November 6, 2018 Statewide Election on the Registration & Elections Division website www.smcacre.org, starting at 8:05 p.m., on Election Night.

The election results release schedule for Election Night is as follows:

  • 8:05 p.m. – Vote by Mail Ballots (Partial results)
  • 9:00 p.m. and each half-hour until complete – Vote Center Ballots (All electronic voting results)

The post-election results release schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, November 8 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 13 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday, November 16 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 21 at 4:30 p.m. (if necessary)

Election results are available in PDF and HTML format on the Registration & Elections Division website, at the “Get Election Results” link.

The Registration & Elections Division will send e-mail alerts to interested members of the public as new results are posted online. Requests can be made online at www.smcacre.org. Please click the link “Sign Up to Receive Election Night Result Notices by Email” under “November 6, 2018 Statewide General Election” or call 650.312.5222.

New Election Model for November 6, 2018
The November 6, 2018 Statewide General Election is the second election conducted under the California Voter’s Choice Act model. Traditional polling places will be replaced by Vote Centers, which will be open for voting for a greater period, and which will offer expanded voter services including voter registration, multilingual assistance, and disabled access voting options. Every registered voter will also receive a Vote-by-Mail, which can be returned with no postage required in any mailbox or special ballot boxes located throughout the county.
